The heavenly city of Devprayag located at an altitude of 830 meters above sea level. Devprayag is the last Prayag or the sacred confluence of the Alaknanda River, so the confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi River is known as the Ganges. The city is home to the experts from Badrinath Dham.

The meaning of Devprayag is divine confluence since the god of man “Dev”, and “Prayag” means confluence. According to the locals, Devprayag makes us more holy than Haridwar and has several sacred places that can cleanse the mind and soul. A natural water source called Batesville within the city is known to have high medicinal properties and believed to cure leprosy.
