Though, there are no direct trains to reach Kedarnath Dham; the tourists willing to pay a visit to the holy place of Lord Shiva can get down at the Rishikesh Railway Station from Delhi. This station lies at a distance of 216km from Kedarnath Dham. After getting down at the railway station, one can hire a taxi or take local transport to reach Kedarnath.
The devotees cannot access Kedarnath by using private or local transport because the road beyond Gaurikund is not quite good for motors. This is the reason that one can reach Gaurikund easily and have to trek for a distance of 14km to reach Kedarnath Dham.
