The journey, the food Panchmukhi Doli began from Ukhimat to Phata on 6th of May, 7th of May and reach to Gaurikund and the Kedarnath on 8th May. The Kedarnath Temple gates will be close on 9th of November during the winter session.

Inside the Kedarnath Temple

The shrine of Lord Shiva inside the temple is made of grey color stone. Inside the Garbha Griha, the pyramid-shaped rock idol of Lord Shiva is kept. You may also spot a grand and large statue of Nandi Bull guarding the temple. In the mandapa section of the shrine of Kedarnath Temple, the idols of Kunti, Lord Krishna, Draupadi, and Pandavas is posed.

How to Reach Kedarnath

Its a common question that “How to Reach Kedarnath“, There are multiple routes to reach Kedarnath either by bus or by air, or by train.

By air: Reach the Jolly Grant Airport Dehradun. Hire a taxi to reach Gaurikund then start your trek to reach Kedarnath.

By Road: The destination of Gaurikund is easily accessible by the roads of Rishikesh, Dehradun, Uttarkashi and Tehri, Pauri and Chamoli. Buses and taxis are conveniently available to reach these destinations.

Morning puja time: 4 am to 7 am.

It includes Mahabhishek (Rs. 1700 per head), Rudrabhishek (Rs. 1300 per head), Laghurudrabhishek (Rs. 1100 per head), Shodasopachar Pooja (Ra. 1000 per head). You can also avail Balbhog, general morning pooja, other rituals can be attend at nominal rates.

Evening pooja time: 6 pm to 7:30 pm.

The Shiva Sahasranamam Paath is perform where all the 1008 names of Shiva is recite (Rs. 360 per head). To attend Shiva Mahimastotra Paath, the charge is same. Shiva Thandavastotra Paath which have 16 syllables per stores is recite to describe about Lord Shiva’s power and beauty (Rs. 340 per head).

Festivals Celebrated in Kedarnath

There are several festivals celebrated in Kedarnath. They are:

  • Badri-Kedar Utsav (in the month of June)
  • Shravani Annakoot Mela (a day before Raksha Bandhan)
  • Samadhi Pooja (on that day when the Kedarnath Temple closes for six months)
