You may also get shared jeeps or similar vehicles. From there, do a trek from Janki Chatti to Yamunotri which is about 5 kilometers.

By Road: It is considered as the best route to reach Yamunotri as it is well-connected to the roads of yamunotri, till Phool Chatti, via Dehradun and Barkot. However, if you plan to come by the Haridwar-Rishikesh route, then you will have to follow the Dharasu bifurcation point.

The yamunotri trek route is compulsory and thus, cannot be switched with any other route. The trekking begins from Janki Chatti which takes around 6 kilometers to reach Yamunotri, that is, around two to three hours time. The trekking path is quite steep which make it difficult to walk, in the presence of beautiful lakes and streams, ample flora and fauna, snowy regions and dense forests. There are several facilities and amenities provide to the pilgrims with water supply, seatings, and resting spots. Small tea and coffee stalls for refreshments are also present at regular intervals for the comfort of the tourists.
