The date of opening of Kedarnath temple depends on Akshaya Tritiya. Akshaya Tritiya, also known as Akha Teej, is an auspicious day for Hindu people, which is considered to bring good luck. Actually, Chardham Yatra starts from Akshaya Tritiya. The date of opening of Shri Kedarnath ji is announced on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri.
Every year during winter, the gates of the Kedarnath Temple, along with other Char Dham holy places remain closed. And the gates open during the months of April and May. However, the Kedarnath opening and closing date 2024 will be announced soon. The gates of Kedarnath will open on 25th of April 2024 (Tentative), and it is expected to be closed date will be announced soon. The closing date may vary depending on the situation.
