One of the most integral Dhams of the Chota Char Dham Yatra is a tour to Yamunotri Temple, including sightseeing of Kedarnath, Badrinath and Gangotri temples. The Yamunotri Temple is the abode of Goddess Yamuna, where she resides at the peak of 10,804 feet above the sea level.
Devotees from across the country wishes to take a glimpse of the Goddess during their journey to the Char Dham. The beautiful temple is situated magnificently on the left of the river Yamuna and was initially constructed by Tehri Garhwal’s King Maharaja Pratap Singh.
During the winter season, the gates of the Yamunotri temple remain closed. Due to heavy snowfall, the place does not stay accessible for the visitors. However, visitors can visit the temple starting from the month of May until November. The Yamunotri opening and closing date 2023 has been declared. This year, the gates of the temple will be opened from 22 April 2023. The closing dates, however, will be declared soon.
