Temples of the Uttarakhand Char Dham Yatra
The main aim of this Char Dham from Jaipur Package is to visit the four sacred temples in Uttarakhand.
Yamunotri
The temple of Goddess Yamuna is Yamunotri. Pilgrims visit this temple first before any other temple in the Chardham pilgrimage. The trek to Yamunotri starts from Janki Chatti, which is 6 km. The river Yamuna originates from a glacier near the temple. There is a natural hot water spring called Surya Kund near the temple where you can have a holy dip. Visit Divya Shila near the main temple.
Gangotri
The major temple in the Char Dham pilgrimage is dedicated to River Ganga. Ganga originates in the form of Bhagirathi from Gangotri Glacier, which is 18 km from the main temple. You can take a holy dip at Gangnani hot water spring, which is on the way to Gangotri. In Gangotri, visit Bhagirath Shila, where King Bhagirath meditated for centuries to bring Ganga from the heavens.
Kedarnath
The temple of Lord Shiva is also the highest Jyotirlinga in India. Kedarnath is famous for the padyatra (trek), where pilgrims start from Gaurikund and reach Kedarnath Temple after a long 18–22 km trek. Kedarnath is situated in the scenic Himalayan mountains, and you can view them from the temple itself. Visit the Adi Shankaracharya Statue and meditation caves near the temple. As you will stay in Kedarnath for a night, you can visit the temple on the day you arrive and also on the second day of your Kedarnath visit.
Badrinath
The temple is of Lord Vishnu, and he is worshipped here as Badrinarayan or Badrivishal. Tapt Kund is a hot water spring where pilgrims take a hot water bath near the temple. Badrinath Dham is an immensely sacred meditation space for ascetics and holy men in ancient times. You can go for short excursions to Mana Village and nearby tourist landmarks.
