Guptkashi to Kedarnath Heli Service to be Cheaper
This year in 2023, the Uttarakhand government has made the Kedarnath Helicopter service a lot cheaper compared to last year. Now pilgrims can take the Kedarnath Heli service from Guptkashi at rates which are cheaper by Rs.10/-. This is very good news for tourists who are planning to visit Kedarnath by helicopter.
The passengers will have to pay Rs.7740/- per passenger for two-way helicopter service (Guptkashi > Kedarnath > Guptkashi). Opening of tenders for heli services to Kedarnath Dham
(UCADA) The Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority opened tenders which were applied by aviation companies for the Kedarnath helicopter service. Reputed aviation companies like Trans Bharat, Aryan Aviation, and many others filed tenders. Considering the comfort of pilgrims, the Uttarakhand government has put a cap on the upper limit.
This means that aviation companies cannot increase helicopter fares by themselves. They have to follow the guidelines of the Uttarakhand government and limit the fare as per the maximum limit set. Six routes have been confirmed from Guptkashi, Sersi, and Phata.

There is further good news for tourists who are going for Char Dham Yatra 2023. Now tourists can book their helicopter tickets online through IRCTC. The trial of their new website heliyatra.irctc.co.in has just begun. Tourists can start booking their tickets online through the portal from the first week of April 2023.
Hack-proof helipad and ticket booking area
Uttarakhand government has made great efforts to make the process of ticket booking completely safe and secure. Pilgrims can now book their helicopter tickets to Kedarnath without worrying about the hacking of their tickets. The ticket counter and helipad both will be made hack-proof to prevent fraud in ticket booking. Even online booking will be made available from only one officially approved website, and no other website will be allowed to book tickets.
Smooth traffic arrangements
The Inspector General of Police Garhwal Zone Karan Singh Nagnyal recently visited Rudraprayag and monitored the traffic situation. He announced a series of safety measures that would be implemented this year in 2023 to make the Char Dham Yatra safer and more comfortable for tourists.
He inspected the Police Office, Police Line, Kotwali, and various other places. And said that traffic arrangements will be improved in the major routes to Char Dham Yatra such as Rudraprayag to Gaurikund. He said that security and safety in the helipad areas, and also in the major towns and cities in Uttarakhand will be improved.
Police teams will be deployed along the major yatra routes and places to control the flow of tourists and also to prevent any miscreants from disrupting the Char Dham Yatra 2023.
