These monasteries are centuries old and are worth visiting for their ancient Buddhist culture. You can also visit the ancient caves where Buddhist monks meditate.
But out of all the places, the most interesting ones are Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar. The shimmering blue Mansarovar Lake is at the base of Mount Kailash. It is the most transparent of lakes in the entire Tibetan region and you can see through the water into the lake. Mount Kailash is the holiest of mountains and has not been climbed yet. You will also be able to have a look at Om Parvat and the holy ‘Aum’ sign that is made by snow on the mountain.
