Kedarnath Yatra 2023 Opening Date

The opening date of Kedarnath Temple was announced today on the auspicious day of Mahashivratri. The doors of the Kedarnath Temple will reopen on April 25, 2023. The exact time of the reopening of the doors to Kedarnath Temple is 6.30 am on the morning of April 25. With the announcement of the Kedarnath Temple opening date, all the Char Dham Yatra temple opening dates are now announced for 2023.

Religious Festivities at Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath

The opening date for Kedarnath Temple was announced with religious pujas and Abhishek. Priests at the Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath performed Maha Abhishek Puja at 4 a.m. Bhog was offered to the temple deity. The committee workers sang bhajan kirtans throughout the day. Aarti was sung for Lord Kedarnath at 9 a.m. After that, the Acharyas of the temple committee sat on the Panchkedar Gaddisthal. They calculated the Kedarnath Temple opening date, based on the Panchang or Hindu calendar.

Uttarakhand Government Preparations for Char Dham Yatra 2023

The temple doors at Badrinath Dham will reopen on April 27. This year in 2023 around 50 lakh tourists from all over India are expected to visit the Char Dham Yatra temples and other places in Uttarakhand.

Preparations are being done in full swing to make the yatra as comfortable as possible for all the yatris. Biometric registration is a must for all the pilgrims of Char Dham Yatra. The Uttarakhand government has set up offline registration centers for those who have not registered through the online portal.

Char Dham Yatra After the Corona Pandemic

The Char Dham Yatra set a new record in 2022, as a record number of pilgrims visited the four temples in Uttarakhand after a gap of two years of the Coronavirus pandemic. Kedarnath Temple is also one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples in India, and part of the Panch Kedar Temple tourist circuit.
